Electro Homeopathic Medicine
Electro Homeopathic Medicine
Spagyric medicine was exceedingly well known and used in ancient times. Paracelsus may be considered as the herald and the morning star of Spagyric medicines. Historical records show that Alchemic medicine had reached its pinnacle of glory some five thousand years ago in India and Asia, and became known in Europe around 500 years ago. It suffered an abysmal fall in later times, due partly to the ignorance of the masses, and the vested interests of those authorities opposed to the practice of Spagyric medicine.
Then in the 19th century, it was Count Mattei, an Italian, who once again re-invented the true art of Spagyric medicine, despite some fundamental points of conflict between Mattei and scientists of that time. Spagyric medicine is different from Homeopathic medicine and has a separate place in Natural Medicine. Count Mattei will remain one of the pioneers of Spagyric medicine based on Paracelsus and Hahnemann’s principle of similars, and set the basis for complex homeopathy. It was known that there were other individuals in the field of Spagyric such as Zimple, Sauter, Father Muller and Giordan, and such other practitioners working along the same line, but their influence was marginal and limited to a few remedies which have not spread further compared to those of Count Mattei. Count Mattei not only re-invented the Spagyric art, but gave the world much more in a system based on the law of nature, a plant-oriented medicine in the form of Electro Homeopathy**, (This system does not use electricity or any electric devices, the founder used the term “electro” to describe the rapid action of the dynamic force of plant extract). Thus he made his remedies using the Plant Kingdom alone. His message was simple: “Back to Nature.”
Mattei’s main principle was making medicine using the oldest art of Spagyric, which is very close to Nature. He realised that Spagyric art had been misinterpreted, resulting in scholars labelling it “magic medicine” (miracle healing), or it is only art of making gold from metal. But Count Mattei established that Spagyric is the art of healing by nature, and the true technique of making medicines. Mattei had no intention of criticising other forms of medicine, rather, he just pointed out the errors in existing medicines, paying attention to the objectionable or false concepts in the institution which existed then, and how these could be best reformed.
Looking at this historically, inventors of other systems of medicinehad too disagreed with the existing institutes, similarly pointing out how their theory of medicine was more superior than the other. At the start he
was shrewd enough as to just hint at the real process of Spagyric, but he has since given enough of a general clue about his medicine to enable us to understand the whole concept, in order to make effective medicines from Spagyric essences. In my opinion, all inventors of the past, on their journey towards discovery, demonstrated their theories by disclosing minimal facts to start with, but gradually research and development by their followers on the subject made it increasingly popular. Witness Alchemy, Homeopathy, Ayurveda and so on.
Count Mattei is the most remarkable of reformists of Spagyric medicine in the 19th century. He recognised the loss of interest of Spagyric medicine by medical scientists of that time. He was very much interested in medical sciences, especially botany; at the same time, he was a staunch supporter of Paracelsus and had taken equal interest in Hahnemann’s discovery. He agrees basically with Hahnemann’s principle “Law of Similars”, but he had a differing opinion. He disagrees with the approach of using single medicines in homeopathy, and he pointed out that medicine should not be given symptomatically. He also was not satisfied with dilution of medicines beyond the limit, in his opinion medicines should be diluted in proportion to
the severity of the disease.
Count Mattei established electro homeopathy. With regard to the “law of similar” principle, he wrote in 1874: "All these remedies are subject to the Law of Similarities in so far as, if administered in high doses, they generate symptoms of diseases which causes they cleared if taken in suitable doses. But experience does not qualify me to state that they can generate pathological symptoms in a completely healthy person who is carrying neither a disposition nor the germs of a disease." The initial worsening or initial reaction, as known in homeopathy, should also be seen in electro homeopathic medicines; these are closely connected with the similarity principle. By vinod Kumar
Thus this is the outstanding feature of electro homeopathy which is again discovered by Count Mattei.
These remedies are based on the principle of Spagyric and homeopathy now better known as a Spagyric Electro homeo therapy. These remedies are manufactured as Spagyric method (Krauss/Zimpel).
